Synaxon, the leading dealer group for the IT and office products channel, is putting a record rise in the number of new members joining and higher levels of interest from well-established, medium-sized resellers over the past month, down to the growing success and reputation of its EGIS online system. Since the start of January, 33 companies have signed up as Synaxon members – the highest number to join during a single month since the UK operation was formally established at the beginning of last year. This has taken the total number of UK members to more than 594 resellers.
Derek Jones, Synaxon’s UK Managing Director, says that more resellers are now hearing about the benefits of becoming a member, and cites the success of Synaxon’s EGIS (Enterprise Global Information System) as the main reason for the surge in new recruits. Crucially, he points out that EGIS gives resellers access to any personalised pricing and terms that they may have negotiated directly with the distributor, as well as the special deals arranged by Synaxon for its members.
“Let’s face it, the last 12 months were really tough and resellers and dealers have come back in the New Year determined to get as much competitive advantage as they can. If they can find a way to be more efficient and reduce their costs, they will – with EGIS they can do both and make the most, not only of the special terms we provide, but also their own separately negotiated agreements with distributors. Quite simply, EGIS just makes your life easier. It enables you to view availability and pricing of all our distributor partners, and then place orders directly with those distributors, without constantly logging in and out of different systems. Many resellers are joining for precisely this reason. Jason Nixon, Business Manager at iTeamUK, (www.iteamuk.com) says that the appeal is pretty straight-forward. “From a sourcing point of view, we anticipate that having free access to all the distributor systems through EGIS will be really useful and enable us deliver a better and more reliable service to our customers.”
Of the 33 new members that have joined Synaxon over the past month, almost half have turnovers of £1 million or more and five of them have annual sales of more than £7 million. They include ‘traditional’ business-to-business systems integrators, office products dealers and computer retailers, as well as smaller independent IT specialists. Jones says that the spread of different types of organisations joining the group is a demonstration of its broad appeal – and the positive impact that EGIS is having for existing members. “Whether you are an IT reseller or an office products dealer, EGIS can give you the ability to buy better, sell more and reduce your costs.”
EGIS is a comprehensive stock locator and procurement tool that delivers real-time stock availability and personalised business account pricing. Resellers can place their orders directly with their chosen distributor, taking advantage of their own personalised pricing or the price available to Synaxon members, if it is better, without the need to log-out of EGIS. Where resellers have access to ‘special bid’ or ‘vendor level’, this is also displayed to you through the EGIS on-line price check.
The system is fully integrated with the systems of Synaxon’s partner distributors and designed to ensure individual businesses can see and take advantage of any of their own special terms and pricing that they may have negotiated with distributors.
